Looks: One of the most aesthetically pleasing gin glasses on the market! The thick foot and subtly flared stem add distinctive detail to this gin balloon glass. Mouth-blown by skilled artisans, it is designed with a wide bowl that will enhance the scent of your favourite gin! These glasses have a flawless design to them. When I think of a gin and tonic glass, this exact glass pops up. The glass has a very clean design with no harsh edges, and the thin stem seamlessly flows into the bowl! This simple design is perfect for lounging out by the pool on a summer’s day!

Quality: This glass can definitely hold its own in the size department. At 17.3 cm high with a capacity to hold 420ml of liquid, it’s a good-size glass. You do have to be careful when washing it, though. Because of its thin stem and wide bowl, if you apply too much pressure while cleaning it, it may crack. But that comes with just about any delicate glass product that needs to be cleaned. All in all, it is still one of the top gin glasses when it comes to quality!

Pros and Cons: Let’s start on a negative note here and finish strong. The main con for this product would be durability. Nobody wants to have their favorite glass crack in the midst of cleaning it. And although it is not super pricey, if this happened often that money would definitely add up. On the brighter side, it’s not super pricey and gets you a clean, slick glass that, if treated carefully, you can drink out of for a very long time!

Bottom Line: All in all, it’s definitely one of the higher quality gin glasses in the game! Its design is beautiful and comes with a price point that is very hard to complain about. Not to mention its size and capacity for when you finally get home after a long day at the office and need a little more than normal to help wind down. This product is completely worth every penny spent on it!

Rink Drink Spanish Gin & Tonic Cocktail Glasses – Best Gin & Tonic Glasses

UK FlagLooks:
This amazing product is a classic balloon glass with wide, tapered bowls. Standing at 19.8cm tall and 9.4cm wide, this glass is a beast! The slick look of the elongated stems fit perfectly in your hand! This glass separates itself from the rest based off pure size and volume capacity. The Rink Drink brings the go big or go home attitude to the extreme!

Quality: Not really a fan of handwashing the dishes? More of a dishwasher type of person? That’s no problem with these glasses. These glasses are completely dishwasher friendly, making the clean-up process a lot easier after one of those friendly get togethers you and your family decided to plan last second. They’re thick and heavy glasses that should serve their purpose for a long time!

Pros and Cons: One of the premier pros of this product is its size and weight. It’s a very strong and durable product, especially for a price point that is extremely hard! Another plus is how much liquid it can hold — 645ml is no joke. That is more than enough to make your night a very interesting one! But that same pro can also become a con if you’re not interested in pouring that much gin at once or are looking for something smaller or more practical. Another con is a slight design flaw. The bases of these glasses are a bit on the smaller side, causing them to tip over and spill or break if you’re not careful.

Bottom Line: The reviews on it are through the roof, making it a no brainer to put on our list of best gin glasses of the year. That being said, this glass definitely only plays to niche crowds. If you drink a very little amount at once, the glass is probably not for you. But if you’re looking for a glass that holds a lot of gin whilst also looking pristine, then Bingo! This gin glass is a match made in heaven for you.

UK FlagLooks:
Just like the LSA brand, this is a very standard looking gin and tonic glass. Prototypical thin stem into wide bowl look that anyone could recognize — very clean appearance with a wide base for extra stability. It’s extremely light coming in at only 11.4 ounces. The tallest glass of the group standing at 21cm, this is an overall beautiful piece to add to your collection!

Quality: Another beast when it comes to size and amount it can hold. Not quite as much as the Rink Drink but close, coming in at a 610ml capacity. This glass comes shipped in a unique tube packaging that shows the amount of detail put into the product. Dartington consistently produces class A glasses that customers rarely take issue with. With the sturdy base, this product should be quite durable as long as you take good care of it!

Pros and Cons: How thirsty are you exactly? If the answer is very, this is the glass for you. The main pro of the Dartington would be the 610ml capacity. This product has a high price point, which is a tad bit on the high side but you are also getting a good size glass in return. The unique tube packaging separates it from the others and could constitute as a pro depending on if you’re into the details!

Bottom Line: Does size matter to you? Just like Rink Drink, this glass is going to cater to people who would like more bang for their buck. It’s a big glass with a sturdy base. It’s sleek design with the thin stem and wide bowl catches gin and tonic drinker’s eyes. Every review we’ve read on this product has been positive and will make as a very nice gift for a friend or loved one!

Libbey Cosmopolitan Martini Glasses – Coolest Gin Glasses

[easyazon_image align=”center” height=”500″ identifier=”B01ESOCNTY” locale=”US” src=”https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41kJNt1KL1L.jpg” tag=”12×75-20″ width=”500″]

Looks:
Definitely the odd ball of the group. With its 3.5-inch height and 4.25-inch diameter. This glass is a nice switch up from the rest of the glasses on this list. It has a sleek and modern design while still looking traditional. The wide opening on the top of the glass is the perfect spot for garnishes or mini umbrellas. It only weighs 9 ounces which is surprisingly dense considering how much smaller it is compared to the other three. It’s round off color faded base really adds character to this glass. This glass definitely has the high end look to it.

Quality: Have you ever owned a wine glass that was made in across the pond? Well here’s your chance. The Libbey was made with strong and durable glass in Turkey. It holds 8 ounces which is the perfect amount for your favorite martinis, cosmopolitans, and other cocktails! It’s completely dishwasher safe and due to it’s round base, would be very hard to accidentally tip over or crack!

Pros and Cons: The obvious pro to everybody here would be the durability. Low chance of it cracking or tipping over mixed with the dishwasher friendly cleaning. You can’t really beat that. But my personal favorite thing about the Libbey would be the design. It’s modern design really appeals and will impress most who see it. A con would be the high price point considering you can’t fill it up nearly as much as the other glasses stated above. Also, following another niche market for people who don’t like to pour too much at a time.

Bottom Line:  Yes we know this isn’t a standard gin glass. But did those g&ts taste great in themThis glass is perfect for the younger crowd who are into the more modern look. If you are looking to drink a lot at a time, this is not the glass for you. If you are looking for durability and convenience, then this could quite possibly be the glass for you. Very good to have if you’re into making a variety of mixed drinks or just want to sip slowly on something strong! So, you just have to ask yourself if the price point fits your needs when it comes to the Libbey glass!

How Much Gin Should be in a Gin and Tonic

Now that you’ve picked out the perfect glass, you’re probably wondering how much gin should go into the gin and tonic. Is there even a correct amount you’re supposed to use?

Well, we think that depends on how bad your day was.

If your favorite pet just died and your boss fired you, I’d say just skip the tonic altogether and go to town! (Okay, that got dark for a second, but there is indeed a correct amount of gin you are supposed to use).

After a multitude of trial and error runs, the amount of gin you should use should be about 2 ounces for every 4-to-5 ounces of tonic. That’s the exact sweet spot you should try and hit to impress friends and family who come over for game night! Bottoms up, friends.

How to Make a Perfect Gin and Tonic

Now that you know the perfect gin to tonic ratio, let’s go ahead and go over how to make the perfect gin and tonic you’ve ever experienced in your life!

Now let’s start with what type of gin you should use.

It’s usually the best bet to go with a mid- to high-shelf brand such as Plymouth or Bombay.

Next would be the tonic.

It is usually better to use single-serving bottles because you lose a lot less fizz. Always, and I mean always, use a fresh lime. The lime is basically the string that ties the entire gin and tonic together.

Last but not least, ice.

The key is to get the ratio (we talk about that in the above paragraph) correct to balance out the bitterness of the tonic water against the gin. First you will fill the glass with ice. Add the gin and lime juice, then top it off with the tonic water.

Lastly, garnish the drink with a lime wedge or slice and voila! You have yourself the perfect gin and tonic!

If you’d like to see a master at work. Below is a video of Celebrity Chef, Jamie Oliver (MBE) making his version of a gin and tonic:

The Perfect Gin Glasses: Our Final Thoughts

Well, here we are. You’re on Amazon searching for the perfect gin and tonic glass. The pressure is on. It’s the bottom of the 9th, two outs with the bases loaded and you’re at bat. Okay, it’s probably not that serious, but it definitely does matter.

We went over the beautiful LSA handmade model with it’s sleek design and raving reviews from fans!

The dishwasher friendly, thick, and heavy Rink Drink!

The Dartington standing at a whopping 8 foot 5. Okay maybe just 21cm but compared to the rest it might as well be.

And last but not least, well kind of least if we’re talking size and capacity, the KooK!

All four of these gin glasses are diverse and play to a wide variety of people with multiple preferences. Do you want a classy glass? Handmade? Modern?

These glasses cover the entire spectrum that you may be looking for! Do you want a delicate glass in the LSA or sturdy one in the Rink Drink? A tall one in the Dartington or a short one? Now with this information, I believe in your ability to go out there find the glass that perfectly suits you!

As I said in the very first paragraph. After much research (getting sloshed on LOADS of g&t) I highly recommend the Darlington Gin Glasses.
